FAQS

1. How is a mini session different from a regular session?

Mini sessions are on a specific date and at a specific location, lasting 20 minutes in length. Regular sessions are held at the location of your choice, lasting 90 minutes. The fall calendar fills up quick, as it is a popular time for portraits. When there are scheduling and financial restraints, the mini sessions are the answer. We shoot multiple sessions on the same day, at the same location, for shorter times and at a discounted price to be more available for you. They give you a Sweet Memories Portraits shoot with greater availability and discounted prices!

2. How do I reserve a mini session?

Contact us at 586.549.6224 or via email at jill@sweetmemoriesportraits.com. A $40 deposit will reserve your session time, and the rest of your payment is due on the day of the session.

3. What is the cost of the mini session?

One session fee is $95 and double sessions (two consecutive time slots) are $150. Double sessions are required for families larger than 5. Cash, check, or PayPal are accepted.

4. What does the session fee include?

The session fee includes your deposit to reserve your session, an online viewing album, and 4×6 proofs of all your images. Using the online viewing album, you may purchase additional prints, products or customized holiday cards with a 10% discount. To purchase a CD including all of your images, please contact Sweet Memories Portraits.

5. What should we wear?

The most important thing when choosing clothing is that everyone is comfortable. We want to you to be relaxed, to have fun, and to be yourself, and that will come across in the images. Try coordinating colors within your group, avoiding having everyone in the exact same outfit. Jewel tones such as navy, eggplant, and teal are complimentary to almost all skin tones. While neutrals photograph well, try to avoid high contrasting colors such as black and white. If you would like to have multiple looks with minimal time and effort, wear layers that can be easily added or changed.

6. How do I find the location?

The Yates Cider Mill is located at Dequindre and Avon Roads (23 Mile Road) in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The mill is just 35 minutes from downtown Detroit. Yates Cider Mill can be reached from the Clinton River Trail and the Macomb Orchard Trail. We are only a short distance south on Dequindre Rd.

Shelby Township’s beautiful Heritage Garden located behind the Municipal Offices at 52700 Van Dyke Avenue, east side, south of 24 Mile Road. It can be reached from both 24 Mile Road and Van Dyke. Look for the green signs for the Municipal Offices.

7. How do I see & purchase my pictures?

About 2 weeks after the session we will email you to let you know your pictures are ready and you will be receiving them in the mail shortly. The email will also include a link to your online viewing album that you may share with friends and family. You may purchase additional prints directly from the website, or if you prefer by phone or email. CDs of all your images may also be purchased.
8. Can I use the pictures in a holiday card or Save-the-date?

Absolutely! Holiday and Save-the-date cards will be created and customized together with us. Simply contact us to discuss and set up an appointment. If you would like to make cards on your own, you may use the images by purchasing a CD.

Baby Kaelyn

Baby Kaelyn is the smallest newborn I've had the pleasure of photographing. She was so tiny but was incredibly strong! She didn't stay asleep very long but she gave us some fantastic images. Thank you Curtis family!

The Making of a Mom (and Dad!) {St. Clair Shores, MI Adoption Photography}

The Evely family is about to expand to a party of 3 in just about a month. Melissa and Ryan are probably the most deserving couple to receive such a gift of a beautiful baby boy that I know. I had the honor of spending some time with them this weekend while they packed their suitcases for their trip to Idaho to pick him up. I can't wait to meet the little guy next month!

The West Twins { Troy MI Twin Baby Photography}

I was blessed with a set of twin boys this past weekend, two sweet sweet boys that belong to a colleague of mine. Mr. A was not having a good time but Mr. B was very photogenic and oh so smiley. Can't wait to photograph them in a few months for their first birthdays!

The B Twins turn ONE! {Troy MI, Smash Cake Baby Photography}

These two one year old twin girls are so adorable and so cute. I can't say they were a breeze to photograph because they weren't but this was our first attempt at a smash cake session and if I say so myself I got some great shots! Happy Birthday A & L!
